To explain why cats eat grass, scientists have consulted many other predator studies to hypothesize. Accordingly, eating grass is an instinct accompanied by an evolutionary benefit of cats.

1. Good for digestion

Cats eat their prey in both edible and non-edible parts (bones, feathers, etc.), so cats are often susceptible to bad digestive effects.

Eating grass will make your cats vomit, but it will help them get rid of their digestive problems.

Therefore, this is great for our cats.

2. Supplement with folic acid

Like breast milk, grass juice contains a lot of folic acids. This vitamin is essential for the functions and support of the cat's body to produce hemoglobin, a protein that promotes blood circulation. In fact, toward cats, grass water is like juice to us.

3. The grass is a natural laxative.

For cats, grass acts as a natural laxative, helping to fight indigestion. If you have cats, you will often find them vomiting small, wet buns around the house.

However, if the tufts have reached the depths of the digestive tract, the cat needs grass as a catalyst to help its vomit. And in fact, finding grass to solve their problems is also a way for our cat to save money for us owners.

4. Get rid of the parasite from the intestinal tract.

Because grass is high in fiber and stiff, the cat's digestive tract muscles will have to work harder in response to that digestive process.

When the muscles contract strongly, it also pushes out both the grass and intestinal parasites.

Most predators are infected with the parasite, so eating grass could help them clear their digestive tract. Kittens eat more grass than old cats because their immune systems are weak, unable to fight the parasites. Moreover, having too many parasites in the abdomen also affects the development of the kitten.
